Mongolian Style Beef

This is a backpacking Mongolian style beef recipe by John Weber.

Packaging Instructions

1. One box of Mongolian style beef dinner mix
2. Gallon zip bag
3. Open box, pour pasta and sauce into zip bag
4. Add 1 Tbsp beef soup base
5. Add 1 Tbsp brown sugar
6. Add 1/4 cup dried peas
7. Add 3/4 cup TVP

Preparation Instructions

1. Empty contents of bag into pan
2. Add 3 1/2 cups water
3. Mix well
4. Set on stove, cover and bring to boil
5. Reduce heat and simmer 8 minutes
6. Remove from stove and let stand 5 minutes

Cheeseburger Mac

This is a backpacking cheeseburger mac recipe by John Weber.

Packaging Instructions

1. One box of cheeseburger mac dinner mix
2. Gallon zip bag
3. Open box, pour noodles into bag
4. Open sauce package, pour into bag
5. Add 1 Tbsp beef soup base
6. Add 3 ounces pasta (by weight)
7. Add 3 Tbsp dry milk
8. Add 2 Tbsp creamer
9. Add 2 Tbsp cheese mix
10. Add 1/4 tsp ground cumin
11. Add 1/4 tsp black pepper
12. Add 3/4 cup TVP

Preparation Instructions

1. Empty bag into pan
2. Add 4 1/2 cups water
3. Mix well
4. Set on stove, cover, bring to boil
5. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes
6. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes

Lasagna

This is a backpacking lasagna recipe by John Weber.

Packaging Instructions

1. One box of lasagna dinner mix
2. One gallon zip bag
3. Open box, pour noodles into plastic bag
4. Open sauce package and pour into bag
5. Add 1 Tbsp beef soup base
6. Add 3 ounces pasta (by weight)
7. Add 1 tsp white sugar
8. Add 2 Tbsp tomato powder
9. Add 1 tsp dry onion
10. Add 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
11. Add 1/4 tsp black pepper
12. Add 3/4 cup TVP

Preparation Instructions

1. Empty bag into pan
2. Add 4 1/2 cups water
3. Mix well
4. Set on stove, cover, bring to boil
5. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes
6. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes

Apples with Cake Dumplings

Packaging Instructions

Step One

1. Quart zip bag
2. Add 1 box Jiffy cake mix

Step Two

1. Sandwich zip bag
2. Add 1 cup dried apples cut into pieces
3. Add 2 Tbsp brown sugar
4. Add 1 Tbsp white sugar
5. Add 1/2 tsp cinnamon
6. Seal the small bag into the large bag

Preparation Instructions

1. Mix 2 cups water with fruit in small pan with lid
2. Cover and bring to boil
3. Reduce heat and simmer 4 minutes stirring occasionally
4. Add 1/3 cup water to cake batter bag
5. Seal and mix by squeezing bag
6. Cut a corner off the bag and squeeze onto fruit (Do NOT mix)
7. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 8 minutes (Do NOT peek)

Apples and Graham or Granola

Packaging Instructions

Step One

1. Quart zip bag
2. Add 1 cup dried apples cut into pieces
3. Add 2 Tbsp brown sugar
4. Add 1 Tbsp white sugar
5. Add 1 Tbsp cornstarch
6. Add 0.5 tsp cinnamon

Step Two

1. Sandwich zip bag
2. Add 3/4 cup of graham cracker crumbs or granola
3. Seal small bag and seal into large bag

Preparation Instructions

1. Mix 1 cup water with the fruit in small pan
2. Cover and bring to boil
3. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally
4. Remove from stove
5. Spread graham crumbs or granola over apples
6. Let stand 5 minutes to cool

Pudding

This is a no cook recipe for backpacking.

Packaging Instructions

1. Large bag (quart zip)
2. Add box of pudding (any type)
3. Add 3 Tbsp dry milk
4. Add 2 Tbsp creamer
5. Add 1 Tbsp buttermilk mix
6. Seal and shake well

Preparation Instructions

1. Empty contents of bag into small pan
2. Add 1.5 cups of cold water
3. Mix well
4. Let stand five minutes

Cub Day Camp

Come join the Fun of Cub Scout Day Camp! There are two locations, Lancaster Fair Grounds and the Green County Fair Grounds in Monroe, WI.

The theme this year is the Wild Wild West, so prepare for an awesome time!

Lancaster dates are June 21 – 24.

Monroe dates are August 9 – 11.
