TOUR DE BLACKHAWK Bike Tour
Bring a Bike, Sleeping Bag and a Tent… We’ll do the Cooking! June 11-12-13, 2010 Monticello, Wisconsin

| As part of Blackhawk Area Council’s celebration of 100 years of Scouting in the USA, we are bringing to you, for the first time ever, a Council Camporee on wheels. There will be options for bike riders of all levels of expertise – everything from a few miles on a bike trail, to a challenging road course, and everything in between.
The Jane Addams trail in Illinois between Freeport and the state line, along with the Badger State and Sugar River Trails in Wisconsin which connect Monroe, Monticello, Belleville, New Glarus, Albany, and Brodhead will be used, and the road course will be nearby in the Monticello area.
There will be many other cycling related events, activities, and games along with camping available in Monticello. All you need to bring is your bike, tent, and sleeping bag. You can leave your kitchen gear at home because we are doing the cooking; two breakfasts and the Saturday evening meal are included as part of the tour.
Mark your calendars, come and spend some time in the country.

The Boy Scouts of America is considering introducing a Boy Scout shirt made by Under Armour. Boy Scouts would wear the shirt while doing activities such as service projects, hiking, camping, and other troop activities.
The BSA is interested in getting feedback on options via an online survey. Please help get the word out and encourage Scouts to take this survey.

Arrowhead District is currently putting plans together to recruit volunteers ages 55 and better to serve as Tiger Cub Den Leaders in local packs. If your pack would accept such a volunteer please e-mail nick.geinosky@scouting.org to be included in our efforts. The 2010 Philmont Training Schedule is now available. Please view the list below to see if there is a training that you would like to attend. For those who have never been there, the Philmont Training Center is a family-friendly facility that provides activities for the whole family including spouses, pre-teen and teenage kids and day care for young children while you attend training. It may just be the best vacation you ever take! All attendees must be approved by your council so please e-mail with your interest to nick.geinosky@scouting.org to be submitted for approval!

Welcome to the new Arrowhead district website! We’re slowly settling into our new space, so please feel free to send comments and let us know what additional things should be added to the site. We will have an updated calendar of events posted very soon, and hopefully a photo gallery section where leaders can share their photos of the activities going on around the district. Come visit the Pioneers February 20, 2010 for a men’s/women’s double header. The action starts at 4 p.m. on the one and only Bo Ryan Court. Cost is very reasonable at $1.75 per child and $3.50 per adult for both games. All orders should be sent in through your Scouting unit. Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturers welcome!
